Founded in the UK in 2011, Culture Trip is a global tech startup that inspires people to explore the world’s culture and creativity through innovative technology and a global network of local content creators. In late-2016 the startup received USD $20 million in investment. Since then, monthly unique visitors to the site have gone from 4 million to 13 million, cross-platform social followers have increased from 1 million to 5 million, and app downloads have leapt from 50,000 to 750,000. Most remarkably, Culture Trip videos were viewed more than 1 billion times within 12 months of the first being posted. In May the company announced a further $80 million of investment.
