Cake Wines, headed up by Glen Cassidy and winemaking friend Sarah Burvill, alongside a growing team of young winemakers and young wine lovers who share a collective love for the world and culture of wine. Their central aim is to ‘…break down the barriers that scare people away from the world of wine’ and to ‘…make quality, creative, expressive wines that represent a place and time, and celebrate the stuff that we think makes the world a more interesting place’.
Cake Wines’ also has a commitment to supporting creatives. Their wine labels are designed by artists, and change with every vintage. The company donates ten percent of its proceeds to local independent radio station FBI, supported short film festival Tropfest and run the annual ‘Archi-bottle Prize’ to illustrate their shiraz label.
