Lee Francis, Founder, Indigenous Comic Con
The Indigenous Comic Con began in 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. An amazing, three-day Indigenous pop-culture convention featuring the best Indigenous creators, illustrators, writers, designers, actors, and producers from the worlds of comic books, games, sci-fi, fantasy, film, television, and graphic novels.
In their first year, more than 1200 people attended. In 2019, they are planning to host the first ever Indigenous Comic Con in Australia as they seek to engage a global audience in changing perceptions of Indigenous people at home and abroad.
